Government says it will save RM4.4billion/year from the fuel hike.

Sodomy? Not again…

June 29th, 2008

Screenplay 101, never use the same plot in a sequel. Even in TV series, CSI, X-Files, etc. will not use the same plot in two episodes for a few reasons:

1. It reflects badly on the talent of the screenplay writer, if there’s any.

2. The audience will definitely be really disappointed. Even the installment of the Sodomy saga was extremely poorly written. People now watch CSI, Heroes, Lost, Prison Break, and many more TV series. Gerak Khas or similar TV series plots are things in the past.

3. Ever heard a story called “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”. Oh p…lease. The moral of the story is: “Nobody believes a liar…even when he is telling the truth!” but we are not sure if there’s any truth in the screenplay… wait a minute… it’s a “screenplay” right?

oh… branding only…

June 28th, 2008

“Malaysia, to my mind, has to represent a few socio-economic agendas very strongly and passionately if we aim to restructure perceptions and garner support from all around.

“A successful and strong national brand will embody and represent the diverse positive elements that comprise our nation,” our dearest Super-Size-Me DPM said.

He said Malaysia could learn from countries such as Switzerland, Japan, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.

Hmm… I wonder if branding is the only issue…

Protest concert song?

June 15th, 2008

So I heard that there will be a big protest in July against the drastic fuel hike! I really hope that there will be a concert! I even have a concert song ready… It is modified from the Van Halen’s “You Really Got Me”. There you go…

Pak Lah, you really got me now
You got me so I don’t know what I’m doin’
Pak Lah, you really got me now
You got me so I can’t sleep at night
Pak Lah, you really got me now
You got me so I don’t know where I’m goin’, yeah
Oh Pak Lah, you really got me now
You got me so I can’t sleep at night
You really got me
You really got me
You really got me
Please, don’t ever let me be
I don’t wanna be by your side
Please, don’t ever let me be
I don’t wanna be by your side
Pak Lah, you really got me now

Don’t know the tunes? Please learn it now!

Opposition No. 2 faces treason charge in Zimbabwe

HARARE, Zimbabwe - President Robert Mugabe’s regime struck at the opposition leadership Thursday only two weeks before Zimbabwe’s presidential runoff election, twice detaining his challenger and jailing the No. 2 opposition official to face treason charges.

The U.S. ambassador, meanwhile, said that 20 tons of American food aid heading to impoverished Zimbabwean children had been seized by authorities last week and given to Mugabe supporters at a rally.

Morgan Tsvangirai, who led the opening round of presidential voting 2 1/2 months ago and faces the increasingly autocratic Mugabe in a June 27 runoff, was stopped at a roadblock in the south and held at a police station for about two hours, his party said.

Civil servants pay, fortnightly or twice a month?

June 12th, 2008

Flip-flop update: Surprise, surprise! the proposal will not be implemented.  Another example of the incompetent idiots who run the country without thinking through the consequences of policy decisions.

There is a difference between weeks and months over a year. I wonder if Mr Sleepy & certain journalists know that.

Malaysiakini reports

Abdullah said the government would also pay salaries of government workers and officers fortnightly from August.

But bernama reports

PUTRAJAYA, June 11 (Bernama) — The government will pay the salary of its officers and staff in two installments a month from August, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced Wednesday.
“The first installment will be paid in the middle of the month and the second at the end of the month.
